Solo Elite History 17 Years Gaming Domination! From 1999 to Present Day
F22 Lightning 3
Solo Elite was formed in 1999 primarily as an F-22 Lightning 3 Squadron. The goal was to recruit top pilots and make them even better! The initial team was assembled and the legend of the greatest squadron in F22 Lightning 3 continues. During Solo Elites time in F22 Lightning 3, we dominated the skies of Novaworld, so many years later our legacy continues.
Over the years we have won wars and tournaments with untouchable statistics and have a war record that is currently unmatched by any other squadron to date. As time went by we grew in numbers and recruited some excellent pilots each with their own individual and valuable input to the team. Years later, F22 Lightning 3 still has a very strong online community. After a long pause and the game not being hosted anymore by the developer of the game, Solo Elite has renewed its interest in F22 and is yet again flying in this old but wonderful game.
Lock On: Modern Air Combat
As F22 Lightning 3 started to slow down along came a brand new Flight Simulator Called Lock On: Modern Air Combat. Lock On was set to be Solo Elites highly awaited next generation flight simulator. Initially the game itself was a hit among most members with in depth game play and graphics which still competes with today's more modern game releases. Several expansion packs have been released since so you will still see Solo Elite tearing up the skies in LOMAC!
Battlefield 1942, Vietnam, Desert Combat and Battlefield 2
Even though Solo Elite was involved in Battlefield 1942 and Battlefield Vietnam they were classed more as 'general games' rather then what we call 'official wings' (supported games) of Solo Elite. The same could be said for the likes of Delta Force, Joint Operations, Battlefield: Desert Combat and the early Call of Duty and Call of Duty United Offensive games. These were all games we played for pure enjoyment. Battlefield 2 changed that and was therefore Solo Elites first official First Person Shooter game which we implemented a command structure for.
Battlefield 2 was one of our most played games. However, during Solo Elites transition from Flight Sims to First Person Shooters we learned the hard way what it took to start up in a new game in a different game genre which had a much bigger, vaster community. Never the less Solo Elite established a US and EU presence in Battlefield 2 and it has easily become a gaming title that forms part of our heritage.
Call of Duty 4
The release of Call of Duty 4 was in a way a savior to Solo Elite, in the same way Battlefield 2 was a savior when F22 Lightning 3 ran its course. The difference is, Battlefield 2 was still a main game for Solo Elite so I guess you could say the urgency for another game maybe wasn’t as demanding. However, the Call of Duty 4 wing evolved way beyond anyone’s expectations!
Call of Duty 4 saw a new breed of gamers in Solo Elite. I guess the best way to describe it is the “new generation” of Solo Elite gaming. Call of Duty 4, for Solo Elite, grew to be as big, if not bigger, then Battlefield 2. Solo Elite was highly successful and came in 1st place in many online community leagues. The Call of Duty 4 War Record rivaled only by the record set in F22 Lightning 3 speaks for itself. Call of Duty 4 was an essential part of our community and remains a key point in gaming history for Solo Elite.
Call of Duty: World at War
Call of Duty World at War was seen as a natural step from Call of Duty 4. There were some gamers that stopped playing COD4 to be a part of World at War and there were those who played both. The Call of Duty World at War ran in parallel with Call of Duty 4 housing some of the best gamers we have ever seen. We were active in Wars and had a well established team. We were (and still are) feared by our competitors when it comes to any Call of Duty series and Call of Duty World at War was no exception.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty Black Ops was a natural step for Solo Elite to take. It proved to be a positive move because after only a few months Solo Elite claimed the first place trophy for the TRL league AND ladder! We are proud of our achievements in all of the Call of Duty series of games. These particular game cemented Solo Elites place in the First Person Shooter genre and we will continue to support them as 'official wings' for all the years to come.
Solo Elite continues to explore all First Person Shooter games on offer and it was no different when it came to Arma 3. Although not officially a supported title currently; Arma 3 appealed to a number of Solo Elite members which sought realism in game play. The Arma series is one which Solo Elite will play close attention going forward and when the demand is there it will once again no doubt become a spear-point game for Solo Elite.
Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4
Battlefield 3 followed by Battlefield 4 were the next major titles Solo Elite ventured into after a successful campaign in the Call of Duty series, and the earlier Battlefield 2 and Bad Company releases. Battlefield 4 (at time of writing) is one of Solo Elites 'main games'. As a competitive online gaming community we aim to continue to hold weekly squad based training sessions and monthly scrimmages with other clans. We have no doubt future releases in the Battlefield series such as Battlefield 1 will commit all of our current members for several years to come!
Star Citizen (Beta)
For the first time in our history Solo Elite has ventured into the MMO genre in the form of Star Citizen. Consisting of both first person space combat and MMO style persistent universe Star Citizen is set to be a huge hit with captivating game play and stunning visual graphics. Currently in beta (at time of writing) Solo Elite sees the massive potential for this particular game both for Solo Elite and the gaming community as a whole.
Solo Elite is set for what could be one of the biggest gaming releases of the decade. Present at EA Games World Premier; Solo Elite watched the action unfold in what can only be described as an 'epic' first look at the new Battlefield entry. Battlefield 1 set to be released in October 2016 is destined to be one of our primary games of the future. Once the game was released Solo Elite was heavily involved. Unfortunatly, the lack of a competitive environment meant that the game soon phased out for us.. Nevertheless, Battlefield is still a core franchise for us and we eagerly await the release of the latest eSports inititves modes!
PUBG came out of no where and was instantly a popular hit amongst the majority of Solo Elite members and the world in general! Finally, a game that provided a competitive FPS environment where teamwork was key. The game has been a massive success for Solo Elite in which we have held several 'in-house' competitions to date with prizes on offer. As a team that thrives on team work and competition, Chicken Dinners are not that hard to come by! PUBG is currently the most played game amongst our members and we have no doubt it will remain that way for quite some time!
You can see by reading the Solo Elite History have we have managed to evolve from once was a pure Flight Simulation based gaming community in 1999 to a team that went outside there comfort zone to get involved if other game genres, in particular; First Person Shooters. Not only could we hold our own, we managed to win several highly coveted online gaming leagues along the way.
Solo Elite is always looking to the future and we will endeavor to cater for all the best new games that become available! We will continue to be a highly competitive clan offering a fun, enjoyable environment for all our members to game in. Solo Elite is a camaraderie which is rivaled by no other team and through our friendship and trust we will continue to strive towards being one of the best online gaming communities this world has even seen!
