So far, ive gone from
4GB RAM to 16GB of RAM
500GB spinning HD to 500GB SSD HD
32bit OS to 64bit OS with a fresh install on the new SSD
Win 10 Home to Win 10 Pro

MASSIVE Improvements in speed!

Still to upgrade
ATI Radeon 5850 to something more up-to-date
Core i5 CPU to Core i7 CPU Socket 1156

Board I got but yet to put together is CORE I7-8700K and the graphics card I am being told to get is the 1080 or 1070..

Hey bro,

Your probably going to need to upgrade the motherboard; 1156 socket is a little dated now and you might not be able to easily pick up a CPU. This might mean you need to change your ram (again) if you purchased DDR3 because DDR4 is now the standard. Grab a socket 1151, the 8700K and a 1070 or better GPU.

1151 socket CPUs have risen in price so much last few months :/ Was gonna give my son a new computer but the entry level cpu i3-8100 has risen 61% lol(he dont need more power).

Just wait for a 2060 or buy a 1060 unless you are gonna game higher than 1080p

if you want lots of games on your pc, I would still keep those old hdds, also those M.2 drives are faster than ssds.
